User Data Restriction - Product Description

The User Data Restriction feature provides functionality to control user actions within Dynamics 365 Business Central. It allows restricting specific users from inserting, modifying, or deleting data. This restriction is managed through the User Setup page, where permissions can be configured on a user-by-user basis.

Backend Overview

The User Data Restriction functionality interacts with all the tables in D365 Business Central and provides three options: Insert, Modify, and Delete.

  • By enabling the respective checkmarks (ON), the user is restricted from performing the selected actions (Insert, Modify, or Delete) on the defined functionality.
  • If the checkmarks are disabled (OFF), the user is granted the ability to insert, modify, or delete data as required.

This feature ensures granular control over user access and helps safeguard sensitive data within the system.
